Job Overview

The Cloud Security Engineer will provide cybersecurity expertise in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of security in cloud-based environments. This position is responsible for keeping the cloud infrastructure current, making recommendations, and participating in the implementation and continuous improvement of technologies and services in cloud-based environments based on internal and external policies/frameworks. This position will provide support on Incident Response related to security incidents.


* This position will provide support and guidance to others on security strategies, processes, and technology. This will involve collaborating with analysts, engineers, and dev ops to achieve continuous improvement in cyber defense and resiliency. This position will also provide management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customers, members, or corporate security objectives.
* This role will also be responsible for enabling the Cloud Secure Responsible role as defined by Daimler. The Cloud Security Responsible (CSR) is a collection of team members that are responsible for security in cloud apps, cloud systems, or any other cloud implementation for the Digital Customer Experience cloud applications.
* The CSR group is intended to ensure a secure development and operation in the cloud. Therefore, the main CSR tasks are the management of cloud security solutions (like the security hub or center, depending on the used cloud provider), coordination of security services (like ISA or EPA service) and support during an incident case.
* The CSR was introduced as a role at Daimler which must be close to the development and operation team. The CSR must be aware about important design decisions and must have access to the cloud environments he is responsible for. This allows a CSR to react in cases wrong design decisions are taken or in an incident case.
* In order to fulfill these tasks, the CSR can use powerful tools provided by the strategic cloud providers (e.g. AWS Security Hub or Azure Security Center Standard).



* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related fieldwork experience may substitute for education requirement
* 5 years' experience in a related field of work
* Knowledge of AWS foundation services related to the computer, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security, deployment and management, automation technologies
* Experience architecting, designing, and programming applications and ample experience in high-level programming languages
* Knowledge of firewall and intrusion detection/prevention protocols
* Familiarity using AWS Cloud Services (Lambda, CloudFront, CloudFormation)
* Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills necessary to constantly monitor systems to identify threats and vulnerabilities
* Demonstrated verbal and written skills necessary in executing the job duties which will require working with various teams and business roles, developing reports and technical documentation
* Demonstrated team player as this role will be expected to work with multi-disciplinary teams
* Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines and working well under pressure
* DevOps know-how building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment
* Build and test automation technologies like Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub
* Familiarity in compliance and regulatory guidelines
* Experience in Agile/Scrum and in supporting Agile efforts, preference given to Scrum Alliance Certified applicants and/or PMI-ACP applicants.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
* Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
* Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with minimal supervision.
* Experience with JIRA & Confluence required.
* Ability to work permanently in Atlanta, GA on a full-time basis.
