Role and Responsibilities

Summary

A Cloud Security Professional support cyber security efforts within delivered products, with a specialty in cloud-based solutions. Developed solutions are in accordance with NIST 800-171 and 800-53 guidelines and Risk Management Framework. Cloud environments may include wide variety of Government and commercial clouds, including hybrid environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support cloud security architecture, design, operations, and/or service orchestration
  • Interconnect hybrid environments, including cloud and on premise installations
  • Support proposal development efforts in response to customer requests for proposal
  • Support generation of required documentation associated with customer deliverables, including Plan Of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Support Authority To Operate (ATO) efforts for developed solutions
  • Apply technical security controls and monitor security posture via periodic scans
  • Install patches and upgrades to on premise and cloud platform as need for hardware/appliances, firmware, and/or software to comply with Security guidelines and best practices.
  • Perform technology watch related to industry trends, best practices, and competition.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior level engineers
  • Provide individual engineers with technical leadership and help group members develop new skills.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • B S degree in Engineering or Information Technology related field
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in IT role and 3 years in cybersecurity
  • CCSP certification or equivalent required
  • Experience with multiple cloud environments, including commercial and Government clouds
  • Experience with classified DoD networks, such as SIPR and JWICS, preferred

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.
  • Must be able to work overtime, on and off-shifts as required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, in person, in meetings and by telephone.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computers or other standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Able to support rack mounted equipment (up to 7 feet off the ground)
