We have an incredible opportunity for you to join us here at Phoenix Group as the Enterprise Security Architect in our Phoenix Technology team.
Moving to an agile Product Operating Model, where Phoenix Technology resources are federated directly into the Phoenix business, the Enterprise Security Architect is a key role in our Core Technology Infrastructure Product Group.
In this role you will lead on the Security Strategy, contributing to the Security Operating Model, selecting the security products that Phoenix implements, and identifying the optimum configuration and operation for those solutions.
Reporting directly to the Group Head of Technology and Security Architecture, you will work with other members of the Technology team, the Security function, and the Phoenix architecture community, leading and directing other Security Architects and the wider Security team.
This highly visible position will be front and centre as we work to continuously modernise our services and transform the way Phoenix ensure our business technology, systems and data is secure.
The right candidate will develop the role through outstanding performance, effective communication, architecture governance alignment, and a strong record of delivering results in a large, dynamic corporate environment. You should have experience managing complex security programmes, consolidating legacy services to new, applications and web services, security operations, cost and benefits transparency.
You will lead on annual planning, security portfolio development, and business cases. The ideal candidate requires broad technical skills, strong financial acumen, IT operations experience, and a deep analytical background. Strong judgement and a demonstrable ability to influence without explicit authority are key to success.

In your role as the Enterprise Security Architect, you will
Own and shape Phoenix Group's Security Strategy, ensuring it aligns with our business and technology strategy.
Contribute to the development of the Security Operating Model, so it is clear, well structured, and provides a clear business value proposition, usage, measurement, and commercial framework.
Work on projects with high strategic impact, building a Zero Trust-based security framework that allows our business to operate securely, at pace, executing the breadth of its ambitious business strategy.
Ensure security design 'best practice' is consistently applied across projects, programmes or technologies, up to enterprise level, including business ecosystems and new FinTech partners.
Communicate with a broad range of senior stakeholders and be responsible for defining the vision, principles and strategy for security architects.
Have a deep understanding of our current state security architecture, the challenges it faces, and the opportunities for change that will bring better business outcomes.
Promote DevOps adoption in Phoenix, including a framework of continuous deployment and continuous integration (CI/CD) as part of a Product delivery model.
Represent significant Security designs at the Architecture Review Board (ARB), demonstrating that enablers, risk, TCO and enterprise-wide architectural and security principles and standards have been considered.
Partner with other security, risk and compliance functions to ensure security solutions integrate with other services to provide the framework of controls required by the Phoenix business and industry regulators.
What are we looking for?
Extensive experience as an architect
Proven delivery of architecting, designing, developing, and implementing enterprise security solutions
Solid experience working as an Enterprise Security Architect
Agile, DevOps experience
Large-scale security solution implementation experience, including SaaS service implementation experience
Security operations experience
Knowledge of cloud technologies
Knowledge of SAFe Scaled Agile for Architects
Expert level experience with encryption technologies and techniques
Ability to build Risk Models and analyse security weaknesses in complex technology deployments and enterprise applications
Has experience working with Product Owners to specify Secure infrastructure and application requirements
